Hauser, Rita E., international lawyer
As a senior partner of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan for over twenty year, Hauser has not only limited herself to the playing field of law. In 1972, she co-chaired President Richard Nixon’s reelection campaign. She was a key architect of the GOP’s successful effort to approximately double Nixon’s showing among Jewish voters. Her oral history offers a detailed account of this work.

Known for her devotion to human rights, Hauser works on an international level, fighting conflict and encouraging equality both in the legal and political worlds. Hauser has served as the U.S. Representative to the UN Commission on Human Rights and chairs the International Peace Academy. In 2001, President Bush invited Hauser to sit on the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board, as well as on the Intelligence Oversight Board.
