Burns, George (1896-1996) comedian and actor
George Burns, born January 20, 1896, was the ninth of twelve children born to Louis and Dorothy Birnbaum on New York’s Lower East Side. He would become one of America’s great comics and have a career that included vaudeville, radio, television and films. In 1994, at the age of ninety-eight, he was still working and was featured in the film Radio Land Murders.
